No development or peacekeeping operation without drinking water. Pure water provided by mobile water treatment systems.
Berkefeld has for decades developed various water treatment systems that are successfully used in many countries around the world to produce drinkable water. These systems are used by aid organisations for emergency relief, by military peacekeeping operations or by municipalities in order to close temporary gaps in their local water treatment or distribution networks.
Berkefeld offers systems that can treat various kinds of raw water, either sweet, brackish or seawater. Our process technologies remove different kinds of contamination, whether biological, chemical or radioactive. In close cooperation with our customers we have developed water treatment plants that are highly mobile with easy installation, operation and maintenance. The purification capacity of our systems varies from 2 l/h up to 16 m3/h. The quality of the water produced by our systems matches the WHO and German drinking water standards. Most of our plants combine various process technologies such as chlorination, flocculation, adsorption, precoat filtration, ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis.
